It is important to come off intelligent when giving a speech. Follow these easy steps to give n expert speech. There are five steps in the sequence to giving a good speech. This article will tell you what each is and what response you should be looking for from each one. Let's begin.
The first step to any speech is gaining attention. You want the audience to want to listen. This is the time to create interest in the topic you are speaking on. You may ask a question or start with a joke. The note you open on will carry all the way through your speech. For example, if you are selling a product, start out with an opener that tells the name of the product and a brief statement of why everyone should have it.
The second step is the need step. Tell the audience why they need the information you are giving. What is it that needs to be changed or done? Develop your topic here so that the audience gets a better understanding of how it affects them. Here is where you tell them why every house must have your product, or why every person should give to your cause.
The third step is satisfaction. The audience should be given solutions or plans of action. How can your topic bring them fulfillment? How do they go about it? If they give ten dollars to your charity - will it bring them inner peace? Will you cleaner clean their toilet bowl the best? Satisfy the audience.
The fourth step is illustration. The audience should be able to see or visualize being fulfilled. This tells what it would be like if they have followed the plan of action. Use visual aids here. Show how your product works, or pictures of starving children. You want the images to drive people to need to take your course of proposed action.
The last step is action. This is where the speaker calls on the audience to do something. You have told them what to do and shown them what will happen if they do it. Now it is time for a plea to them to not forget what they heard and act on it. Tell the audience step by step what they must do. Help them to do it. Encourage them.
When you put together all five elements in the above order you should have a powerful and persuading speech.
