How to Face Paint

Here is an activity that is fun for parties, parades or football games.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Hobby Paintbrushes
  • Halloween Makeup Kits
  • Card Tables
  • Chairs
  • Mirrors
  • Towels
  • Towels
  • Makeup Brushes
  • Makeup Sponges
  • Mild Facial Cleansers
  • Water-based Face Paint
  • Towels
  • Chairs
  • 4-5 wipes
Step1
Place model in chair with towel around his or her shoulders.
Step2
Tie back long hair so it doesn't get in the way.
Step3
Wipe model's face clean with a moisture wipe or tissue.
Step4
Apply base paint with a makeup sponge so that it covers the entire face.
Step5
Paint details with makeup brushes according to package directions, putting lighter colors on first. Use a thin brush for fine lines.
Step6
Have the model look up when painting below the eyes. Have the model's eyes closed when painting above them.
Step7
Remove paint with soap and water.

Tips & Warnings

  • Always paint on clean skin and use clean brushes and sponges.
  • Mix paints to create your own colors.
  • Paint ice cream cones, stars, hearts or whatever you'd like.
  • Be careful when painting around the eyes.
  • Never use face paints on someone with a skin problem or allergy.

on 8/8/2006 -Black eyeliner works great for outlining (especially Mary Kay, it works well and writes easily).
-Ben Nye makeup is awesome. I prefer it over Snazaroo. But, it does need to be topped with translucent powder to set it.
-Practice on your hand. Then you get a really good idea how easy your design will be and you can really get a feel for it.
